Electra Health is pleased to offer exceptional osteopathic treatments to the downtown Vancouver community. Our osteopathic practitioners seek to restore the optimal functioning of your body through the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of various conditions.
Osteopathy is unique in its approach: because our Vancouver osteopaths see every system – digestive, digestive, endocrine, musculoskeletal, etc. – of the body as working together, when one method isn’t working well, it affects other parts of your body.
And so, what you see in your body (back pain, knee pain, TMJ, eczema, anxiety, etc.) is often a symptom of a more significant issue. Osteopaths identify your symptoms and then look for their root causes – acting as a treatment and prevention!

In a first consultation, an Osteopathic Practitioner will compile a full case history of the patient’s symptoms, as well as information about their lifestyle and diet.
Osteopathic practitioners are trained to examine areas of the body using a highly developed sense of touch, called palpation, to determine conditions and identify the body’s points of weakness or excessive strain. Osteopathic Practitioners also observe the patient doing some simple movements to facilitate evaluation.
The patient will usually be asked to remove some of their clothing near the area of the body to be examined to allow postural assessment. If it would make you feel more comfortable, please bring a loose fitting top and shorts with you.
The Osteopathic practitioner will discuss the most appropriate treatment plan with the patient, estimating the likely number of sessions needed to treat the patient’s condition effectively (usually 4 – 6 treatments at weekly intervals but this can vary from patient to patient depending on to what degree the problem is chronic or acute). If the condition is unlikely to respond to Osteopathic treatment, the patient will be advised on how to seek further care.
Osteopathy is a ‘package’ of care that includes skilled mobilizing and manipulative techniques, reinforced by guidance on healthy lifestyle and exercise. The key to this is the aim of the Osteopathic practitioner to establish the sound patient-practitioner partnership necessary for ensuring quality care.

Vlad UritskyApril 11, 2025.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Saw Alexander today with a very painful lower back. He got right to work on a deep tissue massage along with some stretching. Would 100% return Rhonda LeeApril 10, 2025.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have tried many different massage therapists through the past 12 years and usually been disappointed due to my bad back being beyond the scope of a therapists knowledge. Brad Dow has incredible knowledge of massage therapy and is actually helping me, which is fabulous and unusual. If you need massage therapy which is actually going to help a long standing problem then give Brad Dow a chance! I feel so blessed to be able to have found him. Travis BriggsApril 6, 2025.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Been going here for about 6 months and have yet to be disappointed. Doina Pislari is a fantastic RMT and wonderful person! Ramona SharmaApril 6, 2025.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After 3+ years of persistent pain that had eventually worsened to the point that I was having trouble walking, sitting, standing, sleeping - chronic sciatica, discomfort along the entire left side of my body, and a stuck, immobile feeling in my pelvic/left abdominal area - I had nearly given up on finding answers. I saw countless professionals including doctors, podiatrists, physiotherapists, and chiropractors, spending well over $10,000 on appointments, diagnostics, and equipment they recommended, doing every remediative exercise/stretch possible while being in excruciating pain. Despite this, no one was able to identify the root cause. Worse still, many practitioners dismissed my experience, attributing it to my weight or lack of fitness, despite the fact that I’ve spent over a decade working out and staying active, being injury-aware, and deeply informed about body mechanics. I was repeatedly offered generic advice like “do hip circles while standing” or “try not to sit so much,” despite the fact that I rarely sit for more than 20 minutes at a time and had already optimized every aspect of posture, ergonomics, footwear, and even explored every potential internal cause like cysts, fibroids, disc herniation. The focus was always on treating surface-level symptoms instead of looking deeper. Then I saw Cole, an RMT, and literally within moments of our first consultation, he was able to pinpoint the actual issue: a tight left psoas muscle. No one else had even considered this, and yet it was the missing piece. I felt seen, understood, and finally hopeful. His approach was not only effective but also respectful of the knowledge and effort I had already invested in understanding my condition. He did his magic, which was extremely specific/specialized techniques to release the psoas, and in just 1 session, I FINALLY noticed a REAL shift. The pain that had defined my daily life for years started to ease, and for the first time in a long time, I felt like myself again. Cole’s work brought immediate relief, but more importantly, it brought back a sense of trust in my body and in the healing process. If you’ve been searching for answers and feel like you’ve tried everything for sciatica/lower back/leg/hip pain, I can’t recommend Cole enough. He listens, assesses with intention, and gets to the root of the issue. I only wish I had found him sooner. Thanks so much, Cole! You're the real MVP. I had cupping and acupuncture done with her and highly recommend both services. Jackson MannMarch 28, 2025.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The acupuncturist Jessica treated me yesterday for a small kink in my neck. I was more than happy with his gentle and effective treatment. Ludovica SoleriMarch 27, 2025.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr Jackson is knowledgeable and great at identifying and fixing the issue. I cannot recommend him enough! Lucas WintersMarch 26, 2025.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I've had a number of RMT sessions with Cole. I arrived in distress with a headache and by the end of the session it was completely gone. I could literally feel him squeezing the headache out of me. I would say he is magic but really, he is extremely skilled. Thank you Cole!
